Clun Forest Sport

  • Wool type: Down-type
  • Spinning method: semi-worsted
  • Number of plies: 3
  • Prickle factor: 2 of 5

Suitable for: comfortable, durable garments and accessories.

The basics: 100% Clun Forest wool. Approximately 225 yards, 205 meters; 90 grams/3.2 ounces. Hand wash. Lay flat to dry. For best results, always knit from alternate skeins when using more than one skein of hand-dyed yarn for a project.

Provenance: Made from wool grown at Ferme Luciole and spun at Wellington Fibre Mill, both in Ontario.

Other notes: This is a highly elastic, springy yarn that can be worn next to the skin. The three-ply structure, semi-worsted spinning method, and the strength of the Clun Forest fibers combine here to make a yarn that should stand up to wear quite well. A lively, fun knit!
