Ply Away

From the PlyAway website:

Join us for the 4th PLY Away Spinning Retreat put on by PLY Magazine, April 9-13, 2019!

Right smack dab in the middle of the USA in Kansas City, Missouri, come join us while we learn, share, enjoy, and just sit and spin! Build you own spinning schedule from in-depth 3-day classes, immersive 2-day classes, fun 1-day classes, or dip your toe in with any of our half-day classes, but make sure to leave a bit of time to relax and spin with like-minded folks!

At the fourth PLY Away you’ll find classes based on the the 5th year of PLY Magazine (Bobbin-led, Semi, Planning, and Flax) along with foundation, advanced, dyeing, and weaving classes with some of the best and brightest spinners at the front of the classrooms; a 40-vendor marketplace with plenty of time to shop; evening events that will relax, thrill, and fill you up; plus a whole lot of little surprises that will make this the fiber event you’ll never want to miss! Join us for 5 days, 4 days, 3 days, or just the weekend; we’ll all be happy you did!

Keep an eye out here for more details!

Ontario Handspinning Seminar

  • University of Western Ontario (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

From the website: “The Ontario Handspinning Seminar is Ontario's annual three day gathering for spinners. Founded in 1964, the Seminar provides a location for spinners of all levels of experience to meet, take workshops, share their work, learn new techniques, shop and be inspired by each other.  The Seminar moves around the Province to allow easy access for all.  Each year the organizing committee selects a theme for the event and all workshops and activities focus on this main idea.  Most importantly, the Ontario Handspinning Seminar brings together our community of spinners for a weekend of creativity and collaboration.”

Our booth will be in the sales room, which is open from 3 to 10 pm on Friday and noon to 2 on Saturday. Entrance to the sales room is free if you are registered for the seminar, or $5 if you’re not.
