Have you ever spun CVM? If not, you are in for a treat. Spinners love this wool, with good reason: it's next to skin soft, has delightful bounce, and spins up into lovely lofty yarns.

  • 100%  CVM wool roving
  • sustainably made in Wisconsin from wool grown in California
  • hand-dyed with love . . . and with professional-grade acid dyes

CVM stands for "California Variegated Mutant," a breed of sheep developed in the 1970s. CVMs are essentially colored Romeldales, and have beautiful fine fleeces. The American Livestock Conservancy lists CVM/Romeldales as "critically" endangered.

This roving is made from tan fleece, which gives a wonderful depth when dyed. It has been gently handled, lovingly dyed, and carefully checked to ensure that no felting has occurred during the dyeing process.

Sheepspot takes extra care in sourcing this wool, so that you can explore your creativity secure in the knowledge that the materials you are using are of the highest quality, and have been sustainably and ethically produced right here in North America.

All Sheepspot products come with a no-hassle money back guarantee. Quantities are limited, so don't hesitate! Click below and buy now.
