Nighttime—navy, forest green, deep teal, eggplant and warm brown.

Embark on your next knitting adventure with lovingly-crafted, farm-fresh Clun Forest Sport. Made in Canada from rare Clun Forest wool that was raised on a family farm and spun at a local mill, Clun Forest Sport is a multi-talented yarn that will expand your knitting horizons.

  • 100% plump, soft Clun Forest wool yarn
  • 225 yards/205 meters
  • 3 ply sport weight
  • hand-dyed with professional-grade acid dyes

Clun Forest sheep originally come from the western part of England, near the Welsh border. They are known as hardy, self-reliant sheep that can thrive in varied terrain, and Clun ewes are widely praised as prolific and attentive mothers. With their black faces, upright ears, and inquisitive expressions they are easy to spot.

This yarn has been minimally-processed to preserve its natural liveliness and bounce. It has not been treated with chemicals to remove every last trace of vegetable matter, but whatever remains can be easily picked out while knitting.

At first glance these skeins look dark blue. But if you look more closely you will see that they are subtly but richly variegated.  They would make a stunning sweater.

I use only professional-grade acid dyes that are light- and wash-fast, and I strive to run my dye studio in an environmentally-sensitive way.
