Standing in the Shadows of Love—warm brown and rust with blue and green and touches of purple.

Have you tried Rambouillet yet? If not, I think you'll love it as much as I do. It's next-to-skin soft, wonderfully elastic, and grown, processed, and spun right here in North America!

  • 100% soft, cozy Rambouillet wool yarn
  • 196 yards/179 meters
  • 2-ply, woolen-spun
  • worsted weight
  • sustainably made in North America from US-grown wool
  • hand-dyed with professional-grade acid dyes

Rambouillet Worsted is spun from the wool of purebred Rambouillet sheep raised on the KID Camino Ranch in northern Wyoming. Rambouillets are descended from Merino sheep imported from Spain by French king Louis XVI to his estate at Rambouillet in 1786. There they were crossed with English longwool breeds and developed into a distinct breed. Rambouillets thrive in the American West, where ranchers appreciate their hardiness and strong flocking instinct.

This warm, woolen-spun yarn is spun at Mountain Meadow Wool Mill, a women-owned mill is committed to environmental sustainability and to supporting American fiber growers.

This yarn has been minimally-processed to preserve its natural liveliness and bounce. Though the wool has been thoroughly washed and carded, it has not been treated with chemicals to remove every last trace of vegetable matter. Any that remains may be easily picked out while knitting.

I use only professional grade acid dyes that are light-fast and wash-fast, and I strive to run my dye studio in an environmentally-sensitive way.
